Tango Holiday Weekend in the dunes

Unfortunately, we have to cancel the tango holiday weekend in Schoorl this year. There are not enough registrations, for the first time in seven years.

Dancing tango and enjoying the most beautiful dunes in the Netherlands, five miles wide with forests and heather, what more can you wish for? Perhaps a dive in the nearby North Sea?

For the seventh year we are organising this Tango Holiday Weekend at Dopersduin in the village of Schoorl. The large single and double rooms all have their own bathroom with toilet and shower. We will enjoy all the meals together. Because of the beautiful surroundings and hospitable atmosphere we love to come back to Dopersduin again and again.

The participants of the weekend will be divided in two different level groups: an intermediate group and a (very) advanced group. Please inform us about your dance experience when registering for the weekend.

Weekend schedule

The long weekend will start at Friday afternoon and end at Sunday afternoon. There will be five workshops and a practica, a dance and practice night on Friday and a milonga on Saturday. During the daytime there will be enough time to stroll or bike through the dunes. Bikes are for hire at Dopersduin. Wide beaches are at five kilometers from Dopersduin.

We will welcome the participants on Friday between 15.00 and16.00. Coffee and tea will be waiting for you. At 16.00pm the first workshop will start. This will be a workshop for all participants. The other four workshops will be separate for the two different levels.

From experience we know that some participants like to be home early on Sunday, therefore there will be a closing of the weekend with all participants at the end of Sunday morning. For those who stay there will be a practica in the afternoon, followed by drinking tea and coffee together for the last time. This is always a very relaxing conclusion of the weekend with the opportunity to say goodbye to the other participants.

Workshops and levels

The participants will be divided in two groups. We expect all participants to have a minimum of half a year of dance experience and a knowledge of basic tango steps such as cunitas, the cross step, ochos and giros. Participants of the advanced group will have to have a minimum experience of two years and regular attendance of milongas.

Accommodation, meals, costs

All rooms are double rooms and have a bathroom with shower and toilet. For individuals who don't want to share a room the additional costs are 12,50 Euro per night. The all-in prices for the weekend including accommodation, meals, workshops, dance evenings, tea and coffee are:

Participants with lower incomes can get a discount of 40 Euro if you are willing to help us during the weekend, for example with fetching tea and coffee during the breaks, decorating the dance hall or cleaning up.

Registration and payment

You can register as a couple or individually. If you don't have a dance partner yet, please let us know your dance level, length and age to enable us to find you a suitable dance partner. You will be able to have contact with each other before deciding wether you want to register for the weekend together.

To register, preferably use the online registration form. If there are any difficulties in filling out the form, you can also register by sending an e-mail to info@tangopassie.nl with the following data:

Your registration is final after receiving the down payment. Please transfer 50% of the costs within a week after receiving the confirmation of your registration.

Please transfer the second half of the payment before April 15. If you register after April 15 please pay the full amount within a week after registration.

Registration is binding. There is no entitlement to a refund if you cancel your participation. However, in exceptional cases when you are not able to attend, for example in case of illness, and if you cancel at least one month before the start of the weekend, we will consider a partial refund. When you cancel less than a month before the start of the weekend, no refund is possible.
